Voices on the project
Such a large, extraordinary project requires more than just an initial idea and a convincing vision. A project on this scale requires courage and strength, it requires support and commitment from many sides. From architects and construction companies, from partners and financiers.
On the occasion of the inspection of the shell of the Autohof Hannover Airport, we have collected voices that tell of the idea, the vision and our own conviction to believe in it. Listen in.
Sebastian Mundt
Partner-Managing Director, Mundt Group
For us, this is not only an absolute flagship project here at Hanover Airport, but we are also delighted to see all the partners who have supported us in this major project gathered here for the first time today. And this also shows how important this location is for us here and this project is for us and for the region.
The mobility transition plays a major role for everyone and, ultimately, all of these issues are brought together here in one place. The issue of parking spaces plays a role. The issue of where truckers can stay plays a role and the very different types of energy that we have here on a huge site.
Thomas Rieder
Shell electromobility
Today, electromobility is an important part of decarbonizing fleets in heavy goods transport and already offers an adequate range for private customers, especially in the passenger car sector. Here at the site, we are developing the largest electromobility concept for Shell in Germany. We will offer three fast charging stations and six overnight charging stations for truck customers.
In addition, we will offer private customers 14 charging stations on the site directly in front of the petrol station store as well as covered charging stations next to the store. With a capacity of up to 400 kilowatts of fast charging power, we offer customers the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles within a few minutes.

Sparkasse Hannover, Corporate Customer Advisor
Mundt's project is a lighthouse project in the north, which we were happy to finance as it perfectly reflects the future energy mosaic in the Federal Republic of Germany. Mundt combines different types of energy supply from fossil fuels to alternative options and offers them to the end customer, which is why we decided to finance this project. One of the things that particularly convinced us here was of course the location, perfectly situated between the highways, in the industrial areas and of course the airport here in Hanover.
But of course we were also convinced by Mundt's decades of experience in these areas. And with our partner Shell at our side. The cooperation with Mundt and its project partners was characterized by short, close coordination rounds, which were always constructive and went well. I would like to express my sincere thanks for the great commitment of all those involved, which led to the project being a complete success.

If we want to decarbonize our heavy goods traffic and traffic in general, then hydrogen is a sensible addition to battery electric vehicles - also because you are independent of the charging network infrastructure.
By operating vehicles with zero emissions, we will also further decarbonize heavy goods transport. And thus, of course, also further advance our CO2 targets in Germany. Our goal is to operate all of our filling stations entirely with green hydrogen by 2028. And here, with the new project in Langenhagen, the companies and our customers will of course be supplied entirely with green hydrogen from the outset

Operations Manager Gastronomy, Mundt Group
We will be opening a bistro-restaurant called Gate One here at the Autohof. The name is based on the airport next door and the gates there.
It will offer five different schnitzel dishes, as well as burgers, bowls and salads. There are no ready meals for children, only freshly cooked food. We will be working with a local company that supplies us with kale, etc. We attach great importance to a fresh component.
Something very special, which you can still see at a few truck stops and service stations, is that we still make our own schnitzel, bread it ourselves and fry it. Nothing comes from a deep fryer or frozen food.
